    Hmm.. good idea. I could cut through with a needle file or maybe a dremmel, and soldering back up is an option. It’s grooved, so will sit back in place well enough.

    May try it again even though I damaged the gear teeth a little during the course of discovering it was borked. Still, if I bodge it back and it fails again, what’ve I got to lose? My sanity during another 2 hour journey filled with bings, perhaps.

    Found a pound coin doing it too!

    My wee van has a place where all my change goes, out of my pocket and between the seat and the hand brake. Because of the bulkhead there is no way you can position the seat to get at it to get it back out again. After 140k there must be quite a sizeable prize fund down there by now. Theres probably enough down there to fix Mollies car, but its because its an old fashioned cable one that I can’t get it out

    I heard a car scrapper on the radio once who reckoned they accumulate £2k per day in loose change scrapping old cars
