Does anyone have any experience of mudguards on a Trek Domane disc? I am looking at this as a winter road option, but want proper permanent mudguards on it, is this doable? What tires can I run with a mudguard? Anyone had any experiences of them fitted to the smaller end of the range – 47cm frame? Any differences in the fit between a carbon and al frame?

    Thanks

They will take full mudguards. Not sure on the max tyre clearance with them. Frame size shouldn’t make any difference. There is much more clearance on the disc (carbon) models than the rim brake (alu) models.

I use to have a carbon domane disc 6.2, it had hidden eyelets so could run proper mudguards, I ran 30mm tyres no problem

Thanks all, I saw the hidden eyelet bit on the description but the bike shop did a sharp intake a breath saying no, they will not fit! Struggling for a mud guard winter bike with a suitable geometry for my giant 5 foot height!

Ive got a Domane SLR disc. I run the Bontrager mud guards on it no problem. There is a little angle-fangeled bit that helps fix the front non-drive side arm to the fork. I take the guards off over the summer but leave that on for convenience. Currently running 28s with wide rims and there is plenty of room. I have no idea why the bike shop say they won’t fit.
