Over the course of 6 hours would you not all anticipate going out…? Admittedly you’re likely to only get one shot, which is a shame with traffic and that.

Noooooooooo, edit, quickly, no one’s said it. I’m ordering some 1.5″ mud tyres right now. Expensive ones too. Hopefully that’ll balance it out.

The lap looks alright, still a few puddles here and there, but it is woods. Lots of double track, whilst I like the singletrack bits near the end last year I imagine any serious racers behind me were cursing them.

I reckon that’s a “bog of despair” at 1:13! Men and bikes will be lost. Looks good though.

Stroud weather forcast is showing a 2-3% chance of rain for the weekend.

I did the last mayhem mud fest, missed last year, in a mixed team of 5 this year.
Looking at the course I may use the rigid scandal 29er 1 by 10 set up with mud x.
Full suss anthem 29er, ron/ralph may not be bike of choice.
I think looking at it, it will still be a bit muddy in places with all the traffic passing through.
Bike choice/tyre choice is always a subject that no one really likes to share.
But thats my idea. 🙂

I disagree, I reckon that would be a good choice, it doesn’t look too muddy to me, bar a few patches, and those will dry with thousands of riders passing over them – bit like 2011 at Eastnor.

2:02 to around 2:07 looks a nice hill.

I used my Anthem 29’er with Ground Control / Fast Trak last year, this year I’ll be on my 29’er HT for much lightness and less clogability.

Awesome. Sadly I failed on the Thunder Burts though, should mean it stays dry!

How long did the lap take?

Orange 5 with Michelin XC dry for me this weekend, slack alice (456 SS) fitted with muds for just in case 😀

What Enduro goggles for dust?

Should be a strava route up.
