Gondola planned to go in just at the bottom of the hill where I live. Not banking on that one at all…..

Australia easily has the variation and then some the UK offers but with one massive caveat. Its bloody enormous. Living in Perth I have loads of great sandy dry fun trails to ride and within say 5 hr drive have gorgeous forests with totally different riding. But if I wanted to say do some proper mountain riding or anything that felt a bit more natural i would have to go over east and thats just not all that practical for most.

The kind of gentle cross country bridleway riding via a pub / cafe for cake doesnt really exist in the west either. There is a lot more scope for gravel riding in the US sense though given that 70% or more of the states roads are unsurfaced. Although most of them dont really go anywhere!

Thats why nobody moves out west – that and the prices in Perth 😉

I can however see why so many do, it ticks all the classic Aussie lifestyle points. Not that many places you can nip out and do some kite surfing in your lunch hour, BBQ most nights, sit outside the pub (when it’s not too hot) a good 3hrs closer to the UK and all that.

@ Bigrich. Arthurs seat is the one I am waiting for. Still not had 100% confirmation that they are going to carry bikes.
