Best MotoGP race in ages! Hope Danny Kent is OK after his tarmac interaction.

Slap on the wrist for Rossi there I think!

Can’t really belive what I just saw happen.
Think he’s made a big mistake there

I hope that doesn’t kill the championship.

Shouldn’t to me it looked like Marquez tried to force it and Rossi wasn’t getting pushed about. Racing incident.

If Miller can take out Crutchlow with nothing said Rossi will be fine

Wowsers 😯 Don’t get me wrong, Marquez wasn’t an angel in all that (some of his overtaking building up to it was VERY aggressive) but Rossi saw Lorenzo disappearing, got frustrated and the Goat kicked out. Race directive will have a lot to do but I think Rossi has blown his championship.

Rossi pushed him wide BUT Marquez turned in anyway knowing ful well Rossi was there and the line he was taking.
He expected Rossi to move – why would he? He had the correct line and Marquez didn’t

Lorenzo going apeshit in race direction 😆

3 points in his race license and starts next race from back of grid

Lorenzo needs to beat both hondas to be [fairly] sure of the championship.

Why’s Marquez trying to help Lorenzo win the title, ‘coz Spanish?

Marquez was further into the wrong there, boy is getting much to rowdy IMO.

Why’s Marquez trying to help Lorenzo win the title, ‘coz Spanish?

MM thinks Rossi punted him off at one race and deliberately cut a chicane to beat him in another. It’s personal, and nothing to do with Jlo.

Marquez shouldn’t have been where he was in that corner though – he turned in deliberately there and when Rossi didn’t move he turned in again harder.
Rossi’s mistake was in lifting his foot off the peg in the manner he did.

Defensive wasn’t it……what’s the first thing you do when someone goes to hit you? You raise yer hands. That’s all he was doing…kinda…

Another classless display by Marquez, Rossi is obviously above that shit 😛

Not sure I quite get this one now, Marquez made first contact, Rossi either deliberately barges him with knee or his foot is brought off the peg…either way too difficult to call….race direction should be penalizing Marquez as well at the very least.

I hope that if Rossi can’t make his way up the field to a position that wins him the champs, that he at least does this again to Marc to shit him up for next season and make Marc wonder whether he’s safe when ever he’s near Rossi.

The cocky little scrote is going to get his comeuppance someday.

“Rossi’s evidence is that his foot came off the foot-peg as a result of the contact. From all the video evidence there is no clear shot that definitely shows that his foot slipped off the footrest because of contact or that he deliberately kicked. I don’t have that as a smoking gun if you like.

Because Rossi, who went on to finish third, already has one penalty point he will be forced to start the Valencia season finale from the back of the grid. ”

Total joke, the championship is a farce. Do they not practice reasonable doubt in racing?

If nothing else the most boring class in bike racing has got people interested over the last couple of rounds.Should be fun in Valencia!! 😀

Meh, wish Super Sic was still about. He’d have been a good buffer for Rossi today

I’ve watched that several times, and still can’t see anything which proves Rossi deliberately took his foot off the peg, or that MM came off as the result of a kick. Can’t see anything to prove the opposite either, but it sure looks a lot more like MM coming off as a result of him contacting Rossi and the foot coming off because of his knee getting headbutted. How on earth can they penalise Rossi on the basis of that? Do they have a different angle we haven’t seen which makes it look different? I’m hoping that sense will be seen at the appeal, because it sure as heck wasn’t Rossi who initiated the incident, that is beyond doubt.

I used to love watching the 250’s.Anyone else remember Capirossis’s move to win the championship on the last corner of the last lap? 😯

Actually I’ve now watched it again in slo-mo, and I’m sure that MM is already going down before Rossi’s foot comes off the peg. He goes down because he tries and fails to lean on Rossi.

Yeah, +1 aracer. It’s bollocks, are Yamaha still appealing? Or has the appeal been decided? Can they correlate telemetry data with the video feed do you think?

The only possible reason I can see for race direction doing this, is increase viewership/and grab headlines. I can see Moto GP losing lots of viewers ebcause of this though.

The BBC news story says that they will appeal. Who will any appeal be to? I’ve got no idea about this sort of thing in MotoGP, but in F1 based on the evidence I’m seeing I’d expect an appeal to be successful.

Lorenzo passing Rossi under yellow…no penalty.

After what Lorenzo has said about Rossi and his tantrum with race directions decision, then I hope Rossi makes sure Lorenzo has the book thrown at him.

Such a dirty race, I think Rossi is right….ever since he quit Honda….Honda have made it policy to give the number two works Honda and satellite riders a gloves off order to hold him up.

Remember the incident between Pedrosa and Marquez a couple of seasons ago where the contact took a sensor of Pedrosa’s bike and caused him to crash further up the straight.

That was virtually identical, Pedrosa took a deliberate line and slowed in the corner to force Marquez wide so he could take the advantage coming out of the corner.

Only that time it was deemed Marquez’s fault.

He’s the safety rep and was in the hearing about Rossi today. I imagine he just saw a racing incident 😆

Also with Capirossis’s history, notably when all the Italians ganged up on Hans Spaan so he could win the 125 Championship http://www.motogp.com/en/Results+Statistics/1990/AUS/125cc/World+Standing
He’s not best placed to comment on the Spanish riders favouring JL… 😉

Can’t see what Marquez did wrong there, when Rossi take a completely unnatural line, looking across at Marquez whilst running him out to outside of the track surely he must be responsible for the resulting contact?

    aracer
    Free Member

Well that is still a crock of **** MM quite clearly turned into Rossi. Sure Rossi might have been running wide, but there was still space on the track outside him – he didn’t force MM off the track and he didn’t force MM to turn into him. MM could have carried on round the outside or backed off and cut back in – he caused the crash himself.

Rossi wasn’t on the limit pushing wide, he chose to run to the outside of the track to impede Marquez, big difference.
As the overtaking rider how would you anticipate that?
As for saying there was room for Marquez to carry on around the outside, I very much doubt it, by the time he’s picked the bike up to miss Rossi he’s on the marbles on the edge of the track and making the corner becomes very difficult.

MM ran wide into the corner to start with so Rossi quite rightly put it up the inside of him.
MM could very easily have stamped on the back brake and turned it – he chose not to and turned in to Rossi.

It would be lovely if next race all the pack pull to one side to allow rossi a clear run up to the head of the race
    Can’t see it though

I just hope for the mechanics sake both Jorge & VR’s bikes have a trouble free weekend in Valencia, imagine the atmosphere in the garage if one of them has a mechanical DNF! 😯
Are they both on their final engines now?

Hammyuk, Marquez was on the racing line, Rossi dived up the inside, no problem there, but he then proceeds to run unnaturally wide playing “silly buggers” with MM resulting in a crash.
I’m a die hard Rossi fan but you can’t defend the indefensible !
As for stamping on the back brake an turning it in, well you’ve lost me there, motocross maybe? 🙂
