Monday Night Pub Ride – January 12th – Littleborough.

i’ll live, just hit the deck quite slowly and landed on my right knee and elbow. with bike on top of me. it’s a bit windy.

I remember being up there one Saturday afternoon in really high winds. Daft really. I don’t know what we were bloody thinking. We just started the Mordor Traverse and leaning with your full body weight into the wind to stay upright. Then we had on one those proper ‘OH SHIT!’ moments, as a huge black cloud came rolling in, and it started torrentially hail-stoning.

With the wind, It was literally like being bead-blasted!! There really nowhere to hide up there

Sounds awesome. I’ll be looking forward to being nearly struck by lightning…. Again.

Met Office predicts that the wind speed will drop and it won’t rain.

Anyone not riding tonight needs to turn up anyway with a note from their responsible adult.

I was up on the top of the moors round there yesterday and it was surprisingly rideable. It’s soggy but not a complete quagmire. The wind was a bit blowy but only if you’re a soft shandy drinking type. I know how robust and weather defying we all are so doubt it’ll be a problem 🙂

I’ll be there whatever tonight. Hopefully some others will be.

Big turn out too, with one notable exception… eh Binners?

Went to Greggs far too often for dinners
But when it is wet,

The 60 mile round trip, combined with the M60 road works put me off this week.

I ended up hanging a mirror in the bathroom and putting up a new curtain track in the front room. What a waste of a pass out!

That was great filthy fun! Well done all.

Another good night of riding rather than sitting in front of the TV. On the up side – not too cold, not windy and no rain. Counter balanced nicely by a torrent of water and mud spraying up from below!

Scaled – the M60 might be down to 50 mile an hour but overall it adds very little time to the overall journey! it took me 35 minutes to get there from Bromley cross so not bad at all really.

Next week Turton. Havent made my mind up yet which pub… watch for the post on Thursday!

The once was a copper named Russy
Who’s preference for bikes was full-sussy
Whilst raiding a house
The criminal’s spouse
Tried putting him off with her… err… all over orange tan.

There was a young lady of orange,
Who didn’t rhyme with anything so she never had a poem written for her which was very unfortunate as she had amazing…..
