Just been up the woods and spoken to the guy doing the tree thinning and also the bloke responsible for getting to logs out.

The only remaining cutting will be in the areas that they have already been working so no other trails will be trashed. He also said that he avoided the bike trails as much as he could so most of them are still there under the wood waste. He hopes to be finished this week.

The log collector was less clear as it his son who should be doing the job and he was only covering for him. He thought he was only there until either the end of this week or some of next week. He also was trying to avoid squashing bike trails when he could.

Hopefully be the end of next week we will be able to start clearing the trails and building new ones (unless the FC have some mor work planned)

Oh, the wood is to be chipped and used for horse bedding by the way.

Did you ask them to leave a selection of nice timber for <cough> preservation work?

I mentioned that it is being turned into chippings so you could decide wether there was a better use for it. 😉

The FC at Lordswood seem a fairly friendly bunch.

Yeah, the new guy Ben Phelan seems sensible. The last guy wasn;t so easy to deal with but they have shipped him over to the Isle of Wight I beleive
