Because my comments are in accordance with what the real lawyers have written on this thread – I’ve never claimed to be one, but I don’t think I’ve written anything legally inaccurate, and I’ve been very consistent in my comments since before real lawyers got involved. Yes I have a reasonable understanding of UK contract law, but I don’t have to prove anything to you – read the thread, you might become better informed as it’s all there.

Very likely as we, including me, are just regurgitating the same facts and opinions. That’s not surprising on stw, but it’s the utter verbal ferocity aimed at the op that has saddened me.

Until court or a different resolution there really isn’t much else to say.

That said I predict Ling to go full metal jacket tomorrow.

Though as pointed out numerous times, he’s not “doing” anything to ling other than exercising his statutory rights under consumer law. All of the complications are fundamentally irrelevant – somebody has signed up for a car lease and they are cancelling it within the cooling off period, all standard stuff. If he was doing that to a mate of mine I’d tell my mate to honour the customer’s consumer rights.
