Mrs Zip is prescribed quinine to help with cramp. This is currently unavailable from our pharmacy.
I quick look on the intranet throws up all kind of amazing products. There’s a bag with some herbs in it and a bottle of spray which appears to be just salt water.
Is there anything that comes fully STW approved?
She does come from a family who put bars of soap in their beds to prevent cramp. Spoiler..it doesn’t work.

Not eating enough meat can result in a deficiency in vitamin B12, etc

After big bike rides, regardless of how much fluid I have drank, I always have a big bottle of full fat tonic (with quinine) to stop cramp. It works for me.

My GP prescribed (well recommended that I should eat) a daily packet of crisps when I was suffering from night time leg cramps as a teenager, it did the trick and was nice washed down with a pint of ale for some extra b vitamins

2 biggest triggers for my leg cramps are
    1. Overtraining
    2. not enough salt in my diet

Yesterday morning. Top of left calf, just below the knee, and then this morning same side just above the ankle.

    Best alarm clock ever 😆

For the last few months I’ve been waking up with cramp in my left calf, not sure if it’s something I should worry about?

I was getting cramp after ride days. I’d only been drinking water, but High5 hydration tablets in a couple of bottles, either during or after, has helped enormously.

A recovery beer and a big bag of salted nuts also works. 🙂

I used to suffer badly to the point of regular agonising awakenings after big road or turbo efforts. Saltstick caps or fastchews stopped them dead, where quinine has failed in the past.

    Bananas work for most people:

As above, tonic water. But only those which boast they’ve got it in. Fevertree (clue in the name) and Schweppes.

    A potassium supplement.

RDA for potassium is 4700mg. A banana contains about 350mg, an avocado about 1000mg.
