As a last bye bye to the UK I got to Innerleithen early on Saturday. Getting out of Coquetdale and the Carterbar was a bit sketchy but there was not that much snow in Scotland. Anyway I was the first on the trail that day riding across hard packed snow when you got to the top of Minch moor and the descent from Minch moor was fantastic. Just grippy enough to be under control but I did make a note to ditch the Continental tyres. Felt a bit weird to come down to all the hullabaloo at the bottom with the uplift but that and the mid week ride in a snowstorm, fog and gale near the top of winhill in the Peak with Wheelsonfire (With the feeling of both unmentionable fear and elation getting down after being lost) should keep my mountain biking memories in good stead for a good few weeks. So bye bye UK mates and hills until summer.
