LA Noire – Anybody played it?

Worth a punt? Online reviews (from players) are either “best game I’ve ever played” or “absolutely awful”. Any STWers want to share their two line reviews?

I’m almost finished it. Found it excellent but a bit repetitive the story line is excellent and the facial capture really does work in trying to identify if they’re lying or not.

I’ve got it.

I’m really enjoying it, but I have concerns over game length and replay value.

It doesn’t really promote / reward wandering around in the way that previous Rockstar games did, which is a bit of a misstep IMHO. In, say, Red Dead Redemption, you could sit there for an hour cocking about picking flowers and shooting packs of wolves, or driving round like a lunatic in GTA. In LA Noire, you get penalised for running people over and damaging the city, and have the option to ‘tell your partner to drive’ which teleports you instantly to your location.

It’s a lovely game, but it’s very much the anti-GTA, and anyone buying it expecting GTA5 is going to be badly disappointed.

just finished it an hour ago good story/ back story and like said above facial animation is great, replay value is you could go back and try and ace all cases thats about it once its finished there is no extra’s.

defiantly worth a play through though.

Cool – might look out for it on pre-owned. Which reminds me, I must get back onto RDR – only got a quarter through it.

I’ve just bought it today…I might play it tonight if the wife hasn’t got her heart set on watching Glee or something.

I expect it’ll be quite prevalent in the second-hand bins in a couple of weeks. I’m waiting for Portal 2 to appear there, personally.

hah, I had a go with it in Game the other day, and was well surprised!!

think you’re right Cougar, wait till the 2nd hand bins are full of them.
