    Help!

This is doing my head in – I use my Apple Watch to track exercise (using the Apple Watch app, not third-party apps such as Strava). I usually select ‘Mixed Cardio’ as that’s what I do – gym sessions that usually comprise weights and spinning/running etc. Just recently, the *Health* app on my phone hasn’t pulled in the Cardio Recovery or Cardio Fitness data although other data such as Heart Rate, Sleep, Steps etc are doing. Now here is the weirder bit, the *Fitness* app on the phone DOES pull through Cardio Fitness data (I have no idea why theere are two different health apps TBF). Both devices are on the latest OS and I have re-paired the watch from a back-up but to no avail.

Any suggestions welcome – thank you!

“health” and “fitness” are two different words for the reason that they are two different things. Being fit is a different objective to being healthy and pursuit of fitness can even be detrimental to health.

I find it hard to find workouts on the phone as well. Either it moves about between OS updates, or it’s so unintuitive that every hunt for it is like the first time I’ve looked.

Found mine in the Health app, looking now (iOS 17.5.1). Scroll down to Workouts. Scroll down past all the annoying adverts for Workout Apps. When you get to Options, beneath that heading you should see many ways of seeing your workout data. For example, I get “Show All Workout Routes >” for my rides.

But they both share lots of the same data (such as cardio fitness, steps, heart rate etc). Well at least they are meant to – mine clearly isn’t sharing across both. And Post-workout Heart-rate Recovery is in Health, not Fitness! Why not just have a single app called ‘Health and Fitness’?

I have seen it suggested that unpairing then repairing the Watch with your phone might do the trick!

Sometimes signing out of your AppleID helps this sort of thing..

Also in Health you can see the actual data that’s been imported and when so it might give you an idea of when it stopped which may help your troubleshooting.

Alternatively head to an Apple Store.

Yeah I did that already – Cardio Fitness stopped syncing with ‘Health’on 1 November, Cardio Recovery stopped on 28 September. Everything else is syncing across in real time. Cardio Fitness has continued to sync with the ‘Fitness’ app (Cardio Rovery doesn’t appear in the Fitness app).

Oddly, though, I tried manually adding data to both earlier today to see if it could prompt them to work again, and since then, Cardio Fitness has synced (but not Cardio Recovery). All very weird.
