You live or married your partner, not their parents, just ignore them.

If you do something to them theyll always convert it to being all your fault and tell your partner they where always right.

I have enough trouble with my own parents to worry about someone else’s!!!

Nah shes on my side – its her who is most upset by them and I am the shoulder to cry on.

They are just f’in idiots I tell you.

The latest one being quite small but follows on after having our first baby and them showing no interest what so ever as in no presents or anything – one visit in 8 weeks, no phone calls nothing. Bearing in mind they live 5 mins walk away. She even passes our house on the way to work twice a day yet never calls in as the Dad wants his tea at 4 and she must get home quickly.

The list goes on and on – I may write a book actually.

They live 5 mins away – are you crazy?

Mine are great (don’t tell them). But you have my simpathy.

Just ignore them if they don’t want to show any interest – you have a new family now.

That’s harsh, our kids are only 8 and 6 and the mrs is going on about how she’s going to spoil the grandkids if they have any, and I’m **** if I don’t like it!! That said we had a spell a yr or so ago where my m and d didn’t see the kids “enough” it upset the mrs more than me, my response was it’s their choice and it’s they/them (couldn’t decide) who are missing out!!

Mine are French, they dont speak English and I dont speak French – perfect.

As my wife translates we all get on really well. Aparrently they have exactly the same views and opinions as I do 🙂

GF’s mum was weirded out for a bit (being generous LOL) , and it was all very uncomfortable for a while. Sara had to sit her down and have a ‘word’ eventually, and since Xmas, she’s been OK really. 🙂

Oh hell yeah, my mother in law is mental. All culminated last summer after Baby Kip was born and we went to Norn Iron to visit. As Mr Kip reads these threads I won’t go into detail, but to say it was horrible and he came close to completely walking away from his family for good, is a close approximation of events.
MiL told me, amongst other things, that I’d given Baby Kip a great start breast feeding her for 3 months but now it was time to give other people a go! She meant with a bottle, not wet nursing. Oh God, now there’s a horrible picture!!!
Luckily major showdown has resulted in more clarity between us all – she’s mental and we smile and wave boys, smile and wave – so Christmas went ok.
In-laws, can’t live with ’em, can’t kill ’em.

Sometimes I think that if I explained everything to a judge and jury they’d understand and let me off. Last summer it was almost worth trying 😉

My father in law is a monk.

He’s a usless bag of shite who is a monk because he was too lazy to get a job and took the easy option of begging for alms every morning instead. He was a crap father before being a monk as well. He spends most of his time stressing the family out by going galavanting around the country not being a monk, getting kicked out of temples and made to go to other temples because he is unreliable.

MIL is ace but mental, she does magic and believes in the healing power of magic etc. Nothing stranger than having her chant incantations over my knackered hand and then blow on it to get it better.

They live about 7000 miles away so it’s ok.
