Mine didn’t give me the measurements I wanted, so I decided it was rubbish

Heh, liking this a lot! I think I may adopt that approach too, unless the results are good 😀

oh yeah, i might need to borrow one of your grown-up looking bikes yeti, forgot to mention that 😆

waiting on another email back from them about if they want to do a static shoot modelling the clothes or a riding one

dirtyg… even if you like them, they’re probably still wrong!! Did I mention about sweat/hydration analysis to you/

    Can’t believe I missed a modelling opportunity.

you havent missed nuffink, email them a photo of your 6pack… then photoshop mrsconsequence into the photo as i think that was the selling point, not me 😳

I haven’t done it, but you should. I reckon you are, or were drinking too much.

During or before/after exercise or in general? What sort of test is it? *wonders how i don’t know about this* I’m going to ask about a VO2/lacic acid test tonight so i’ve got some numbers for winter training and then racing properly next year 8)

    TheSouthernYeti

I scan read an article on it… essentially nobody needs to drink as much as you were… unless you sweat like an absolute hog… which I imagine is not true.

Pretty sure you can do a basic test yourself if you have accurate scales.

You mean the going out for a ride with no water and weighing yourself before and after test? I really suffer if i don’t drink enough, not just in terms of performance exercising, but also i’m more tired/don’t have my usual energy levels either.

Something like that.. think professionally you can get something done that’s more comprehensive… also you are allowed to drink and take this into account. I bet you’d gain weight? How did the thing go last night?

Anyway, back to the OP… are baked beans allowed? I hate them, but have been making myself eat them.

It was good actually – very comprehensive. I get a full report (just scanned the results on her laptop) and how I compare to other female cyclists too. She even did bone size measurements too! My biceps are slightly smaller than A’s – i knew i should have upped my bicep curl weights in the gym again! 😉 Going to go back for a full VO2 test before we go away 😀

I think that’ll be something like food poisoning and not the iDave diet in general, what with the iDave diet just being food and that.
What had you eaten prior to this disaster?

    molgrips

TT that’s bizarre. What did you eat?

    TheSouthernYeti

Baked beans? Banned or not… please?

    Banned, they’re full of sugar

    CaptJon

Don’t they contain a lot of sugar?

Although they taste really nice, especially if you add a bit of curry powder and some worcester sauce.

I can’t remember as we were talking about so much and I don’t yet have my full breakdown. It was very interesting and I’ll get one down again – i have at least 4kgs to lose as well now 😥

I dunno if they do contain all that much sugar actually. I’ve certainly bean eating them 🙂 I do drain as much of the sauce off as I can tho 🙂

nothing unusual; omlettes, salads, houmous, bean and panchetta soup, chicken and veg etc.

my body cannot deal with the day off/ the occasional slip – which unfortunately is inevitable (for me at least)

    Yeti,

most baked beans have sugar in the sauce, you can get kiddy ones with less salt and sugar.

There must be a way of having a day off without giving yourself bad stomachs, surely?

    TheSouthernYeti

    Thanks.

I had some this morning after tabata and a swim, accompanied with black pudding, bacon and egg. I’ll count the sugar as the ‘allowed’ carbs then 🙂

Unusual for you or unusual as in common foodstuffs?
What was the last meal before the illness? I can usually identify the food that gives me problems because ‘the chicken smelled a bit iffy, the salmon might not have been cooked properly or the potato was a bit green’.
    Definitely not the diet perse.

Is dijon mustard allowed? Have with steaks, but also in salad dressing…

I have trouble eating enough beans to do this, which is why I’ve allowed myself baked beans. If I don’t have them for brekkie I’m into low-carb territory which has its own problems.

I tried the reduced sugar ones and they were grim, but I might try again with some other sort of seasoning in them like the Worcester Sauce idea.

But Molgrips if your not going to stick to the diet why break it with baked beans for breakfast when you could have something else that isn’t full of sugar and has lots of carbs, like porridge. Would this not be better for aiding your weight loss?

    TheSouthernYeti

Tobasco sauce? Or worcester sauce… anything to make the vile things palatable.

not just one bout of illness it is every weekend (saturday is my cheat day)

this week i have been off and on the diet almost alternate days (beyond my control) which hasn’t helped at all.

That’s strange, I’d possibly have a word with the doc. But if you’re intent on losing weight, I’d bin the rest day and continue on the diet for the 7 days.

Anyone else doing the cold showers? Supposed to induce cold adaptation resulting in better fat metabolism or something – only thing it’s currently inducing is extreme verbal diarrhoea.

    TheSouthernYeti

Where did you get the cold showers from?

Baked beans aren’t full of sugar, there is SOME sugar in them. But also loads of protein and slow release carbs.

Porridge fills me up for about 30 minutes and end up having to play catchup all day, which is hard when I’m struggling to get enough slow carbs. If I have baked beans I am set for the whole day, with no hunger or energy issues.

My approach to the diet is not hard-line. A few slips here and there don’t make much difference as far as I can tell.

Yeti – cold showers from my house, not golden showers.
