See this thread for opinions on when dogs do this to people.
IMHO it is not that responsible to allow a dog to be 200 yards away from you unmuzzled in the countryside when it has a history of attacking animals you are the responsible person here not the animal.
Countryside code asks for you dog to be under control was it?

John, my f&*!ing dog knows the difference between ANIMALS and PEOPLE. So enough of this SH!T, thanks.

EDIT: She actually also knows the difference between DOGS and other animals. This is probably news to you.

My dog completely ignores other dogs, and people, he thinks they’re too much hassle or something. Rabbit, deer or birds? They’re fair game for him.

Sounds like some people on here have serious dog-phobia, no doubt driven by the minority of lazy owners with over-boisterous dogs out there.

Dez’s dog is quite young, and has erred, as it’s instincts have taken over it’s training. These things happen. Fortunately, it’s not a small child that has been hurt. And as I actually know Dez, I can categorically say that he’s a very responsible bloke, and there’s no way he’d let his dog attack a wild animal, nor see it as a trivial matter.

The deeds been done, what can Dez do? In the very beginning, he expressed concern over the condition of the deer; hardly someone who does not in any way care about other animals. (Dez; maybe worth contacting the new Forest rangers/whoever, report that a deer’s been injured?)

So, to anyone wishing to slag Dez off, for being irresponsible, you’re wrong, and out of order. You don’t know him.

So DezB has the chance of photographing a deer at close quarters and he takes another picture of the effing dog!

If Smee or WCA had posted this thread I would assume the deer had never existed. Dez posted a thread saying “my dog attacked a deer”. I assume Dez isn’t the one and only Trolling Deer-hunter, so maybe the incident actually happened. But Rudeboy says it didn’t, or rather that what he supposes actually happened is different from Dez appeared to be saying happened, or possibly that Dez’s feelings about what happened are different to the feelings being attributed to Dez by people who only read his post and weren’t there, because Rudeboy knows knows Dez. It’s all getting very confusing. But I’m still not sure I care…

Yep, I made it all up. I was sitting at home with my hand in plaster.Dog was in its bed.I thought “how can i stir up some sensitive, dog-phobic mtbers?”
“I know dog attacks deer!” “I save deer!”
    “I’ll be a f*%cking HERO!”

    oops

I’m a lovely responsible bloke really. Wouldn’t harm a fly.

I do hate crows though and let Hope have a good chomp on that bugger the other day.

Time to take the predator for a walk in the country methinks.

At least she’s attempting to off-set her running costs by providing free meat. 😀
Was it a Muntjac? They can cause the dog some nasty injuries with flailing hooves.

BigDummy; you’ve managed to confuddle yourself.

I din’t say it din’t happen; I said Dez would not willingly let his dog attack something (apart from crows).

And I’m sure, knowing Dez, that if is dog attacked or posed a risk to a child, he would do the responsible thing.

I’m defending Dez, ‘cos some people have taken things well out of context and proportion.

[edit] Dez now says it’s all completely fictitious, and an utter fabrication; a tissue of lies and deceit.

What an utter bastard he must truly be.

Not fit to own a plant, let alone a dog, far less, be a parent… 🙄

Heh! You’ll probbly need those ones with the flat, natural rubber coloured soles, as most places insist on non-marking soles. Again, adidas do some good uns.
