  • How do assos bibs size up? Any other recommendations?

    Hi all,

    need some new bibs.

I’ve got a load of “funkier” ones in size L- these are getting a touch baggy as my weight has come down. Not loose but not exactly any compression. The pad has got really compressed on most of them too so they’re about ready for the bin.

I’ve got a set of Castelli in large- a tiny bit tight and the shoulder straps seem really short.

I’m doing a lot more road miles than MTB at the minute and want a couple of pairs of bibs that are a really good fit… any recommendations and help with sizing would be ace!

    Cheers

I’m a large in both, Swiss iconic is cheapest place usually, free chamois cream with a pair usually too

Have a look at Pactimo. Best bib shorts I’ve tried (specifically their Summit Raptors).

Discount codes are available if they’re not currently on a sale.

Small. I’m 5’11 and not exactly a tub of lard, and I need XL and even then they are snug around my ‘powerful’ thighs and arse. My mate gave me a pair of bibs cos he’s 6’3 and XL was too short in the non-adjustable straps.

mrb123- how do the pactimo’s size up?

Re Pactimo. I take size medium, long leg. I’m 32 waist, 39 chest, 6’4″ if that assists. Great fit for the lanky among us as the legs and bib straps are plenty long enough in the smaller sizes.

Send me a PM if you want a discount code.

    I’m same spec as molgrips.

    XL for me.

They are so much better than other brands.

Rone are you on about assos or Pactimo?

How race fit are the t-equipe? £105 seems pretty good for premium shorts on the site whyterash posted (cheers for that)… but I’m worried I’m not a stick thin climber type

Then it’s a big jump in price to the t-cento, and worried if I size up in that they will be too big

    aggghhhhh

I’m 78kg 5ft10.5 32 waist. Fairly broad in the hip and back.

5’9″, 70kg, 32″ waist here. I’ve got a couple of pairs of Funkier in medium, they’re my go-to shorts for longer rides. Just picked a pair of Sundried shorts for £25, again size medium. Spot on, very comfortable, might be getting another pair soon

I’ve not tried the Assos, but my go to bib short for long days (i’ve done 24 hour road events and tours like Torino-Nice where they’ve been worn 7 days stright) is the Sportful Total Comfort shorts, quite a thick pad, but it keeps its padding well.

I’m 5 11 72-78kg depending on season, I find large assos are fine, bit lose when I’m at my lightest, I wear large in Castelli, med in morvelo and gore for a guide.

Rate assos a lot there used to be an outlet site
