Seriously, hes the weakest link for me on Radio6 FFS.

It was so good when Nemone stood in for him two weeks ago. Can the man not ever STFU?

I’m enjoying listening to him now.
Maybe it’s cos I only occasionally listen.

Spread the rumour that he’s a Radio 1 DJ from the 80s..

To me it always sounds like he wants to leave, he just sounds bored and like is purposively doing a half-arsed job, he just rolls out the same jokes and awful impressions every day.

I’ve really warmed to Keaveny. Nemone was sooo dull. Absolutely humourless. Listening to her doing small claims court was painful.

Fair point about impressions though – he’s got to stop with the Macca one

I can’t listen to 6 in the morning because of him. Way past his sell by date.

He’s not as bad as Mary Anne Hobbs, boring smugness personified.

Stoner I shall joust with you on the medieval field of honour if you don’t answer the following correctly..

    Cerys Yay! or meh?

    Lauren Yay! or meh?

Nemone was dull it’s true, but at least her moments of dullness were outweighed by the expansiveness of her staying quiet & getting on with the job of just playing music. If I want purile chatter there’s always Radio1.

I don’t mind him tbf. What’s the score with him and Chris ‘The Hawk’ Hawkins, there hand over chat always sounds a bit bitter

I’ve never liked Keaveny but got the flaming of a lifetime when I mentioned it on here a few years ago!

Agreed though, he’s the weakest one and frankly, quite annoying.

He can go on a bit sometimes but for his STW wee boiling coefficient, he can stay a bit longer.

Nemone gets on with it. I also liked what she plays. Agree with the radio1 comment- I dont want to listen to an ego or a character. I tune in for music and no silly noises interjected in the middle of tunes or voicing through.

I surprisingly like Cerys. I like her little industry stories and (surprised me)-I really like her radio voice.

Cerys is great, until she delves into her pile of unnecessarily obscure vinyl, only outdone by Jarvis Cocker. The Aphex Twin once ironically played a disc of sandpaper at a gig, Jarvis would debate what grade should be used.

Lauren went to college with my sister & can do no wrong.

if he’d stop relying on awful impressions and reduced the amount of time he’s talking by about 10% he’d probably be ok. always seems like he’s not quite sure what he’s on about to me

he’s probably the only radio DJ who advocates cycling to work too – his story about bumping into chris evans parking his ferrari when he was going to lock his bike up tickled me

    Time of the month Hora?

I think he’s refreshing inventive and bursting full of wit and humour, perhaps not. But he’s better than all the alternatives on other stations.

So if he goes and he’s had a good innings, who to replace him?

Radio 6 is for guys who don’t want to grow up.
Listening to the same claptrap over and over again.
Mark or lard (don’t know which one, don’t care does my head in) and if Cerys is on I’m sure her dulcid saw like voice is annoying now as it ever was.

I like Mary Anne Hobbs, Nemone less so as she always sounds a bit insincere to me but Keaveny I don’t listen to much as I quite like Chris Evans on R2 – is that wrong?

that made less sense with the hour gap between starting it and posting. 😳

Smug? Never strikes me as ‘smug’, but perhaps I’m just not sensitive.

    Ooooo, get you! 🙄
You sound like someone from the Daily Mail, pontificating about how men over twenty-five should start wearing sensible clothes and listen to ‘proper music’, like jazz.
I’m sure you’re perfectly happy with Radio 3 and Five Live.
Whereas their boring clap-trap does my head in…
And I do agree that Keaveney really should stop with the stupid impressions, they’re just irritating, but having said that, it could be worse.
    Much worse.
    Baaaaaaaa!

I like him, but I can see how people might not find him the perfect morning show host.

HOWEVER.. I would just add one thought.

    LEST WE FORGET…

    Things can always be worse.

*nemone should however be shot into the sun ASAP.

Have to admit he’s grown on me. Wasn’t a fan at first and I don’t listen all the time but he’s not the worst….

No we can’t – I like him :p At least he has the decency to sound as knackered as I feel in the morning.

Not a fan of Huey. Think Gid, Tom and the FreakZone in the evening slots are the best shows though.

Only Hobbs and her breathless enthusiasm bugs me. Great station.

The normal way to protest against him is to listen to something else.

I kinda liked him until the missus pointed out what a interolerable tw..t he is.

Think my love of 6 was blinding me to fact that as always she is right.

What is the thing about breakfast shows needing to have a zaney DJ.

Edith bowman just left R1? assuming they will give her some time on 6.

Kinda liked Adam Buxton on 6 but not sure could cope every day.

If I want to listen to a radio presenter talk, I’ll tune to R4, otherwise I would like them all to STFU 😉

I’ve only recently started listening to R6 and generally like the music, although without exception, all the presenters seem to be self-absorbed a-holes. Which might be a touch harsh, but why hasn’t someone told Mark Radcliffe that his self created intellectual stammer is just that and doesn’t make him sound anymore big, or clever than it did 30 years ago on R1?

You can take the DJ out of R1, but you can’t seemingly take R1 out of the DJ 🙄
