With some of the discussions last year i jumped to M&S for house and bike insurance, this year the renewal has jumped up a chunk, so thought i’d ask on here. I do like their simplicity of “most expensive bike” rather than having to specify bikes each time we change something etc..

Insurance has gone through the roof, M&S were the cheapest when we shopped around, but still a fair jump.

It’s all expensive now. Aviva or Aviva/M&S is probably still the cheapest for what you want.

Yeah i’ve been looking through their FAQ and Terms and they say basically “that’s our best price, we’re not ripping you off and we won’t negotiate” etc..

I think i’ll suck it up for this year and see how next year plays out.

Aviva – easy up to £5k value. We’ve got 7 bikes covered, including eBike and two at uni halls, max value £4.2k, and it added £75 to the premium.

I was with M&S for a while but the quote was bonkers this year so I switched to Admiral.

Renewal through from MBNA, needed to make changes so had to phone them…6 times the IVR told me they wouldn’t do a discount, then the agent told me that a further 3 times.

Weirdly, M&S Directs you to Aviva for changes to policy etc, but using Gocompare, the Aviva quote is £200 less than the M&S one… lol.

Mine is due next month. I’m with Halifax now, renewal has gone up by £100 but Halifax still coming out cheapest in quotes

    literally just gone through this.
Aviva was having a laugh and even removing £10k of bikes it only dropped it from 680 to 660.
In the end I’ve moved to 1stcentral which is fine for bikes upto 2.5k and I’m taking a seperate policy for the fancy bike.

For me personally though with an £8k ebike it worked out cheaper to buy separate bike insurance.

I have gone with these https://www.cycleplan.co.uk/?ref=CPPPC22&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAoae5BhCNARIsADVLzZc5VFdTdmUD89L1L03VTydZy6GfQXhyrZzojPZuaeDSVTyt0CcQYcIaAkuSEALw_wcB

    Cycleplan are underwritten by Aviva

sainsbury cancelled, so gone to aviva, insures most expensive bike away from home and covers the bike you have,

not great if your garage gets robbed, as limit is tiny.

Sorry ? What’s that bit then mate ? Would like to check that on both M&S and Aviva, i’ve got my bike ‘value’ at £5000 as that would replace the Session, with that being the most expensive one we have.
