All this stuff at the Hotlines show certainly seems impressive, judging by the effusive journalistic reaction on the front page- I don’t think I’ve read much reporting where the writer seems so impressed by every product from every brand, outside of an advertorial.

If this is independent reporting, I look forward to mbr’s report.

“Chain Reaction – the future of mtb’ing in the hands of one company?”

I’ve changed your title to reflect the parent company that owns and operates “Hotlines”

this may give you some idea why there is so much coverage

the “Tesco’s” of the cycling world, for sure 😉

what? there is some link to web stories on here and advertising spend?

    surely not?

we’ve always been told by Chipps and the crew that they have the highest standards of integrity and would never recycle advertising as a story, promote a brand/ kit/ bike that didn’t work etc etc

How many manufacturers at the handmade bike show are paid advertisers? They’ve had a 3 part new story with shed loads of pictures and writeup?

Once upon atime it was Madison?

    Ebbs and flows…

One day we’ll be ‘worrying’ about someone new.

Thing is aren’t hotline highlighting new/unknown brands as well?

ST don;t really criticise the new (often rubbish) products on show at the loads of other bike shows they cover though.

front page is generally news, not reviews.

They say ‘this looks good’ on occasion but not much more than ‘here’s what it is and what the manufacturer says about it’.

I wasn’t commenting about the volume of coverage- as said above, the Handbuilt show received three reports as well, but more the advertorial rather than neutral style of reporting. Course the writer could well have been blown away by all the product..

I have had dealings with Hotlines and I have nothing but praise for them.
