    1. hope mono mini- this was what last years and and the black and gold version were named. Basically they are the X2, without the lever features that the X2 has

    2. This is the lightweight XC racing version. So lots of carbon and titanium. Probably v. expensive and only worth it if you’re after a super light bike.

    3. Like the mono minis, a classic XC/all round type of brake. Has a number of adjustments available at the lever. This is the current model that hope makes.

    4. The heaviest, most powerful brake that hope do. Have heard of some downhill racers selling them due to the weight, but apparently they offer some unrivalled power.

Oh and the M4, is a slightly bigger version of the X2, but with 4 bores, so offers more power and one would imagine more modulation but at a slight weight gain.

not quite right on number 1. Have a look on hope’s site. Mono minis in the most recent guise are silver and black and called 2007/8
