A couple of mates want to go to Llandegla on Saturday but I’m not mad keen. I’d be more inclined if we were also going to be riding some of the bridleways in the forest, the mast, Offa’s Dyke and The Planks of Doom but no, they want to do the red and black only.
I’ve heard of but not been to, Healey Nab and I would be interested to hear some opinions of it if anybody would care to express them?
Are the red and black routes at Healey Nab comparible to Llandegla? My mates love the place (Llandegla), probably because they’re of differing ability to each other so can enjoy Llandegla at their own pace but both hate going up hill. I on the other hand, really quite enjoy a good old up hill suffer session.
    Thanks in advance.

healey nab is tiny in comparison to llandegla (which in turn is not exactly massive), it would take maybe 15 minutes max to ride round it. Its ok to fit it in as part of a longer loop around the local area, but its not worth doing on its own.

Llandegla is way better and much more fun IMO, and the red and black have a lot more climbing than healey nab, if climbing is your bag.

Balls! Thanks julians. We’ll be at Llandegla then. Bugger! Arse! Biscuits!

Just lead out and take ’em on a ‘little’ detour to the masts, I’m sure they won’t notice 😆

It was cracking down there last Sunday, throw in the little roller coaster bit on the red at the top of the first black and it’ll make it a bit more fun 8)

BTW the free-ride section is closed at the moment.

A nice idea Steve but they’re serial Llandegla’rers and the very first ride I took them on was Llandegla before it became a trail centre.
They love the former but hated the latter. I think it was the climb up to the Ponderosa and then the mast that killed it for them.
Sod it! They can do what ever colour they like, I’m doing the old route.
