    Morning all,

I am on the lookout for a full face helmet, I don’t want to spend lots as it won’t be used much. I tried on a Halfords full face job which seemed to fit me better than the similar Bell and Met ones that I have also tried. It seems to have all the relevant certificates so before I took the plunge I wondered if there is anything else I should know.

    The helmet is here

If it is no go, any suggestions for cheapish full facers would be appreciated.

661, there are usualy last years colours cheep on CRC.

I got a strike for £35 and very happy with it for BMX etc.

Fit is the most important thing, but I'd question whether a halfords full face would meet the same criteria as a branded one, or if its just the same protection as an XC lid and the rest is just for show.

Try a few on, you can pick up mid/high end helmets in last years colours for <£60 and will be better designed than a halfords one, either more protecting, better ventilated or better looking depending on your priority. And the price difference is less than a night in the pub (a double whamy, better protected brain cells, and less dead from alcohol poisoning :p )

    have you looked at this

    or here

although I cant see why the Halfords one wouldn't be suitable if it has all the relevant safety checks

p.s. dont buy from CRC without trying first, or be prepared to send it back untill you get the right one. 661 also have at least 2 head shapes/sizes as some dont even go onto my head, an the others fit like a glove.
