Did the Yateley race on Sunday in the fun category. Surprised how busy it was there (300 + riders). You seemed to get a lot of bottlenecks on the course. Is it always that busy or does it quieter as the series goes on?

I think it was around 600 riders. The first race of the year is always busy, the numbers may get slightly less at future ones, but not by much. Have a look at timelaps to see the numbers at last year’s series.

With that number of riders there are always going to be bottlenecks at the first remotely technical section.

It was a record entrance, gorrick do try to eliminate bottlenecks but due to the course problems with the mass rainfall the night before I guess it would have been difficult to eliminate…

the 1st lap theres always bottlenecks especially the first bend onto the singletrack, some courses are worse than others, i blame the riders not the course designers though.
Tunnel hill is fairly bad for overtaking and bottlenecks too, but the course rocks
