I’m planning our latest club kit design and am always looking for inspiration – anyone seen any good/cool/sick/rad/stoked/gnarpooning jersey designs recently?

FWIW, I’ve looked at and discounted anything similar to anything from Primal Wear 🙂

For me, the designs that really stand out well are the ones that use strong geometric shapes and asymmetry. Morvelo and Cervelo/Garmin are particularly good at this:

    However, cofidis are not:

dhb stuff from Wiggle is well cut and well designed with flattering flashes of contrasting colours.

Must have been a hell of crash that broke all their collarbones.

Twin Six has the best designs and sizes too! They update every year as well.

Rapha did a great Liege-Bastogne-Liege one a few years ago that I bought. Black, dark green and gold detailing. Can’t find any photos but it’s one of my favourite jerseys.

My other current favourite is this one:

I ride a geared bike or a singlespeed so I’m probably being subversive or something

Take a look at cliftonclothing.com they let you design your own to. Also personalising available, names titles etc. Met one of the owners the other day. Nice chap.

Thanks all. I’ve been designing kit for our club for years but running into a bit of artist’s block atm though I have had one good idea. I do particularly like Twin Six designs.

clubber – do you get a template from the people printing them as I had an idea for a small run but don’t really know where to start

Owayo send you a template – as you can see i’ve dropped my design onto it.

atlaz – we use Carvalho Custom – they’re very good – send them a sketch and they’ll create the jersey design properly .

Best to visit the Owayo.com website and contact them direct. They charge a set-up fee but I managed to get a discount on the artwork as I provided print ready vector based AW.

We ordered 15 jerseys and they were around 45 euros each

I’m of the less is more school of thought for amateur club kit – too much of it is made to look overly busy to emulate the cluttered sponsored kit of the pros. That and the ‘designers’ getting overly excited about multiple colours and complexity sublimation gives you over traditional screen printing.

A base colour you would want to wear if it wasn’t club kit, play around with the club name in oversize text either across the back or wrapped around the body. Maybe the club name text in a smaller font on the breast on the arm. Job done.

A good base colour, with contrast, something you don’t feel embarassed to wear. Not too many logos, sponsors logos in a good place. And the masterstroke – Club initials on the shoulders for that head on shot 😉

    Avoid white.

    Personal opinion…
avoid anything replica, full of logos or corporate looking

Champion systems do a kit builder so have a look there

Like those dragon ones, though only seem to be for women?

Anyways my google skills are weak, are those muppet tops still available? Only references I can find are for out of production ones….

I have a Wallace and Gromit top for foska. I like colourful and unique designs. Don’t really like wearing a billboard full of logos….

    PlayerLayer did our jerseys –

Was quite a bit cheaper than quoted on website too (Think we got 20% off).
