What’s with the people on stage? Are they “bussed-in” fans to make the band feel wanted?

Lars: Keep your tongue in and stay the hell behind your kit you annoying muppet.

I can’t argue with the older stuff, though \m/ \m/

    La-La tweeted

Love the metal hoarde on stage w #Metallica. very cool move! “We have come for your festival, hippies!”

I thought it was quite funny anyway……..

They are a bit poo faced……think i was wise to grow out of them 24 years ago.

i just can’t get that whiney documentary they did a few years ago out of my head, some kind of monster

I hope I never have to listen to anything like this again. It’s unspeakably shit. That front guy…is it Lars or something? What a tosser!

    “It’s called Cyaniiiiiiide.” 😆

I’m sitting on my couch drinking beer with morality and integrity right now 😆 I’m not entirely sure if all the brothers on the earth love me though

They truly rawk though, it’s pretty much the first time ever I’ve watched Glasto main stage and really wanted to be in the thick of it. I prefer my live music in a smaller setting generally

Not a big fan of Metallica. Currently watching Lana Del Ray and her spectacular pins, recorded earlier.

Metallica are a couple of years before my time, and not quite my cup of tea, but I reckon they are giving one hell of a show.

I think i’m in the minority here with the dislike for Metallica, just me a deadlydarcy eh?. i’m back watching Goldfrapp – an amazing set by the band and Alison’s voice is astounding!.

Liking Metallica but thought Lana Del Ray was astonishing earlier. Beautifully haunting.

Trying to watch Metallica with an open mind, but seriously…. What a truly uninspiring dirge. Dull. Boring.

I suspect this makes me a hippy. Not sure how I feel about that. Shall I grow a beard?

Let’s hope tomorrow’s attempt to sit through Dolly Parton goes better. Giving up on this and watching Jack White on catch up instead.

Hope all metal fans enjoy it though. Fair enough to give me the headline slot, but isn’t there a younger metal band that could have done it?

I’m also a maybe for Metallica, they passed me by the first time and the second pass is not floating my boat. The band don’t seem to like each other!

I saw RHCP in Ipswich and this reminds me of them. Another day at the office, though with a bit more of an effort with the crowd.

Don’t get me wrong, they’re putting on a show and I get that people are liking it and I admire Glastonberry for getting stuff like this in. But it’s all a bit Spinal Tap isn’t it? 🙂

Oh yeah, forgot Goldfrapp were on tonight. Looks like I’ll be watching that next, assuming it’s online.

Hmmm too many slow ones so far, I did miss the beginning but i reckon they should just play kill em all from start to finish 😈

I imagine that when they close with One there will be some good fireworks

    Meh(tallica).

Can’t argue with the musicianship, but I’m unmoved somehow.

Want to cringe my own skin off when Hetfield opens his gob between songs.

Can’t think of any younger bands with the same legacy. The only alternative I guess would be Iron Maiden and their around they same age.

Good show so far, lose the on stage fans and the “hippy” speeches and we’re there.

And play one and master of puppets

Edit: my wish, their command \m/

Goldfrapp on the west holts stage from 20.30 to 21.30, you’ll find it here . Audibly and musically as good live as their studio albums.

Given that no one who bought a ticket at the start knew Metallica were playing tonight, they’ve got one hell of an audience sing-along going on. Every word and every note. Shame Glastonbury have apparently banned pyrotechnics, “One” doesn’t seem quite the same without the smell of cordite in the air! 8)

As for the spinal tap references, its worth watching Some Kind Of Monster documentary it is spinal tap for real but with more focus on alcoholism

Took a while to get going but Metallica still do have something…..but I get the feeling some of the on stage ‘fans’ would rather be making daisy chains.

Astonishingly poor and out of tune perhaps. I would be haunted if I has paid money to watch that.

    Good legs though.
