Mates of mine are going to Cat Empire and were trying to get me to go. No idea what they play but I might go just for a night out.

Other than that I am off to see Trentemoller at the start of November and Jon Hopkins for my birthday in February.

I guess it's best described as 'world music' (shudder) which is to say a mix of loads of genres (jazz, latin etc.). Great get up and dance music..

I found them from the Seasons film:

Last gig was Drenge who were superb.

Next up are a couple of old school electronica gigs, with Orb in Holmfirth in November followed by Eat Static in Hebden Bridge during December.

And I've grudgingly being talked into going to see Shed Seven's gig in Leeds just before Christmas. They weren't that good when they were good in fairness...........

Saw the Quireboys on Monday, Bowling for Soup tonight.

Then I've got Skid Row/Ugly Kid Joe in a few weeks, then a terrible evening in store with Go West and some other 80s throwbacks... not my selection, I'll drink my way through it.

Sam GP & the Rumour first time around at Lancaster Uni.
Also an acoustic solo gig by GP in Camden Town about 10 years ago (as far as I know this was his last UK appearance).

Awesome on both occasions and expecting the same this time around.

Never thought I see him tour with the Rumour again.

Full set including Brindsley Schwartz, Bodnar, Belmont etc

@ CountZero and themightysimmonite - thanks. I've seen some vids on Youtube and he exudes talent, with a knowing nod as it were! Fantastic voice too. 8)

I guess at the time I was too busy obsessing over Van Morrison, along with Neil Young, Allman Brothers, Hendrix, etc 🙂

What a brilliant time for music, incredibly special in the 70's. So many memories.

Oh and also saw Crosby Stills & Nash in the 70's. 8)

Saw both The Airborne Toxic Event and Paul Weller this week.

TATp are a small indie band from the US and their gig was absolutely outstanding. Small venue in Glasgow and the place was bouncing. Defo in my top 3 gigs so far.

Paul Weller was as expected, musically tight as ****, his band were absolutely spot on. Dunno who the drummer was but he was class.

Got Electric Six next month. 🙂

Not a problem, I make sure I'm there early enough to be at the front, not in the bar, and then complain because I can't see. Easy, really.
And I can't be arsed with video, and I don't take crap photos, either, mainly because I'm at the front... 😉

Arctic Monkeys, Sheffield in November.

A load of lads have got a box - not my usual choice of way to see a gig, but saw them in the Don Valley Arena a couple of years ago, so done that - this should be good for the craic!

Lancashire Hotpots and The Orb coming up (in Hebden). Also going to see Nitro Circus Live in Manchester. 🙂

Ben and Lex supporting Dub Pistols.. (our local heroes)

I used to DJ with a guy who had a tune out on their label if I remember rightly. I used to be quite into the breaks scene but it seems to have died a death.

I also used to DJ sometimes with Mike Freear who set up Slamboree - he's from where I'm from. Small world innit. 🙂

Jim Jones Review were great. Properly raucous rock and roll. King Tut's will be a good venue for them.

Lots of interesting stuff in here, including a couple I fancied but wasn't sharp enough dashing down to the local ticket vendor for.
