Has anyone used Garmin winter activity map for biking in the Alps? They’re based on OSM, but with added ski resort data I think.

Can you recommend good Garmin 800 installable maps for a pootle around Mont Blanc? To buy France, Switzerland and Italy from Garmin would cost a few hundred pounds!

confusingly OSM is used for Ordnance Survey and Open Source. Have you looked at Open Source solutions? I downloaded an “OS-like” map of france from openmtbmap, didnt end up using it (trip cancelled) but from perusing the PdeS area it looked pretty detailed and accurate.

Have you tried the Velomaps? I have downloaded them for most of Europe and find them to be pretty comprehensive.

    Sorry forgot link

The open source stuff is pretty good. The velo one is focused on cycle paths, theres also the MTB one:
