Unlike you I am not accusing anyone

Is calling us hypocrits not “personal”?
Seems it is only “personal” when someone says something about you
As for suggesting we treat different races countries differently is that not a personal comment?
    Oh the ironing
TBH i dont think you can either help yourself or stop yourself here [ Like TJ] so lets just get back to the cricket match and forget all this and not ruin a thread about the game which has been far closer than anyone predicted and has been a classic

I shall leave my comments to be only about the match

    106-1

Watch the Clarke one again. He knew, by the way his head follows the ball to see if it’s caught. That’s a giveaway.

Zokes 😉 I wouldnt defend Clarke either! Sounds like he is as bad and I haven’t condoned Aussie cheating at any point. Just wanted them to make a good fiat of it. Still hope they do, but looks even less likely now. So well bowled swanny.

On balance, does look like things have evened out in the context of this match which is good (not in the overall cricket context though). Still all pro sport is full of cheating and drugs so why should cricket be any different.

    Still hope they do

Why? They ‘cheat’, by your definition.

And on a more worthwhile note, Hawkeye before it hits the player is millimetre accurate (like they use in tennis for the line calls). It’s the prediction of the eventual path that brings in the error, so DRS for pitching in line is a safer ask.

    Why?

Well, even though they “may” have balanced each other out, you have to pick one. Best of a bad bunch perhaps? 😉

One rule for the oppo, the other for us. Now that is hypocrisy.

Not at all. What is hypocritical is Aussie supporters complaining about England players copying what Australians have been doing for ages. Exhibit A: Michael Clarke, Sydney 2008.

Exhibit A: Michael Clarke, Sydney 2008.

Exhibit B: Michael Clarke, Adelaide, 2010

Exhibit C: Michael Clarke, Headingley, 2013

    There’s a bit of a trend…

Given how many folk took the piss am I allowed to consider it personal yet ? You know that is the thing you so vehemently object. Would you prefer to maintain that you dont do that whilst calling me a hypocrite ?

TBH I got taken in by the euphoria of it all [ you and your petard and all that] …forgive me and I am sure you wont do it anymore not least because you dont

night well done for staying up – hard to see them surviving tomorrow and a cracking game so far

Superb play from both sides. much more competitive than I expected and plenty to talk about both performance wise and ethics wise

Cracking start to a series IMHO

Agreed. Great game so far – closer than expected.

Watson was given out lbw to Broad and was then caught on camera swearing violently in the direction of the pavilion – where the third umpire, Marais Erasmus, had upheld Dar’s decision because replays showed the ball clipping the leg stump.

In the middle Chris Rogers, Watson’s opening partner, also threw his bat to the ground and stared meaningfully at Dar.

Classy. Hopefully these noble guardians of the spirit of the game will prevail and strike a victory for respect and fair play against the dirty cheats.
