Has anyone flown with a bike that uses a type derailleur? If so what did you do with the derailuer?

On previous bikes that has regular derailleur attached to a hanger, I’d just unbolt the hanger to stop the bike frame from putting pressure on the derailuer and damaging it when the bike was in transit in a bike bag/box.

But with t type, unmounting and remounting the mech looks like it would involve going through the whole calibration/setup process again.

Is t type tough enough to leave bolted on the frame? Or is there something I’m missing here

I just marked where the hanger was aligned using a Sharpie then took it off for the flight. Bolted back on in same place. That was that.

The setup process takes about 2 minutes…

I took mine off for a flight. It was a bit of a pain to put back on correctly so watch a vid.  It does need 35Nm otherwise it slips but everything else is simple.  I assumed set up was super simple, it is but there are steps.

Correct gear, set up position, tight chain 35Nm. Done.

Thanks all – might try marking the position somehow to save the faff.
