Fiido brand

Anyone heard of these – just came across in  my ongoing pursuit of affordable e-cargo on my work scheme.

Never seen them or any in use but pricing attractive. Or do I stick with yuba kombi with retro-fit motor later.

This is what was looking at:

Fiido T2 Longtail Cargo E-bike

The price is impressive but I’d be asking what the local support is like, most bike shops won’t touch an Eeeb unless its a got a drive unit from a brand they work with (Shimano, Bosch etc) and you really don’t want to be posting that thing back if it goes wrong and at that price there are things that may well need work.

Obviously this equation varies depending on how mechnically independent you are.

Yeah, just had a quick look and it’s  not exactly clear is it, or even what motor it is.

Looks like some of the e-motorbikes see food delivery guys around here.

A look in their Facebook says their based in Hong Kong and Facebook reviews are ‘42% would reccomend.’ Which suggests a lot of unhappy customers.

I’d be very wary.

Better off with a 2nd hand Tern or Benno or the like.

Sort of looks like the Radwagon bikes that were being sold a cheap cargos bike but it’s even cheaper. So cheap that the chain line wasn’t thought through properly and it needs an idler pulley to lift it over the kickstand plate.

Nice idea but retrofitting a secondhand Yuba will almost certainly turn out better.

I’ve seen a few of them about in town here. They look suitable for what they’re being used for,  people shopping on the street, but don’t know anyone personally with one to speak of their longevity or use other than around town.

An ebike kit line a tongsheng or bafang retrofitted to the exiting bike would be my preference. They’re also easy to maintain/replace parts yourself if needed. Got around 5000km on the tongsheng I put on my old hard tail so far.
