In the fight against non-ferrous infiltrators, forget that fat aluminium and go for 2″ fat STEEL.

Not an inspiring location like the other shots but I made it in my garage.

    Freshly built

To continue the deviation from the thread title, here’s mine. Although no 29er, all but the chainstays are Steel.

Only ridden up and down the road whilst setting up suspension and gears etc but her maiden voyage is Llandegla on Tuesday and I can’t wait!

Jonm81 – is that some kind of hub gear?

    Swift, steel – tick , 29er – tick.

But in the spirit of recent posts, here it also is with b+ wheels which I’ve really been enjoying 😉

I don’t currently have a 29er, but I’m contemplating a Chromag Surface with similar colouring to the Salsa Beargrease but probably with fork lowers matching the front of the frame.

Would that be bad of me? 🙂

    Fortitude (rolling chassis for sale)

    Replaced with a Krampus

Which so far is ace. Although I’ve gone back to vert dropouts and a tensioner as track-ends and Rohloff isn’t a good combination.

I’m not very good at taking pics when I’m riding, mainly just bikepacking!

    Are you sure?…..

Tried to race it at the last CX race this year but proud to say it got banned by BC (banned in a nice way with Some good humour). Rules wise it was lacking the required bar, pedal, saddle contact points, and potentially a danger to myself and others 🙂

Plus sized singlespeed. I enjoyed this so much I rode nothing else for a year.

Then I built myself this for commuting/pub/mucking about on.

thinking about a slack hardtail next, the new p7 is getting the old n+1 genie going…

    Why?

Faster than walking so why not 🙂 Unless you get dragged into the back wheel by baggy shorts……

My mates in Italy “organise” the Rockville SSCX race every 6th Jan. I’d tried but failed to attend for years (the one year I really tried to get there resulted in a 13 hour wait followed by cancelled flight in snowbound Manchester airport). That gave me plenty of time to think what would be the most minimal / transportable / daftest bike I could make. This was the result (but still not made it to Rockville – or tried to ride it for a prolonged period).

It also coincided with exhibiting at Bespoked so gave a good talking point / conversation starter, as well as playing with a few interesting fabrication details.

No genesis yet so i thought i’d share mine. I fancied a solaris but the high latitude was less than half the price. I’m enjoying it as a winter hardtail for the peaks.
