F1 Grid Girls under review

I saw a documentary where there were many highly educated women in the US porn industry that had funded their education from making movies and were now producers, so it was they who were exploiting the stupid men that bought that stuff.
Yes all research shows that this is very typical of the porn industry Bright intelligent women in charge everywhere 🙄
BS and you must know thisP-JayFree MemberI don’t think putting a few dozen highly paid people out of work for the sake of mock offence is a good idea.
To deny people like to look at attractive people is to deny human nature – so why not make advertising boards out of them – it’s not like the drivers aren’t plastered head to toe in ads.
JunkyardFree MemberI don’t think putting a few dozen highly paid people out of work for the sake of mock offence is a good idea.
Thanks god its genuine offence.
slowoldmanFull MemberI have to confess, I can’t even remember the last time I noticed grid girls…
You can’t see them through the forest of “celebrities” and photographers.
cinnamon_girlFull MemberWhat do you make of this …
My daughter’s company arranged an Xmas do for the staff … a burlesque show. 😆
PJM1974Free MemberPit stops will be a nightmare ,what with having to Facebook all her friends how the race is going before she can head back out onto the circuit.
Ha, Lewis has cornered the entire world’s supply of hashtags.
Fat-boy-fatFull MemberFunnily enough, my better half openly says that one of the most entertaining shows she’s ever been to was a burlesque show. An amazing singer who calls herself Lily La Scala. Madame Butterfly has never been the same since.
grumpyscullerFree MemberThey’ve had cub scouts up on the podium since ever.
Sexist. Where are the Brownies?!What’s sexist about inviting cub scouts – which has been open to both genders for over 20 years?
Chest_RockwellFree MemberA better world with less sexual exploitation.
How is that working out in cultures where women’s modesty is fiercely guarded?
chakapingFull MemberI saw a documentary where there were many highly educated women in the US porn industry that had funded their education from making movies and were now producers, so it was they who were exploiting the stupid men that bought that stuff.
hammyukFree MemberThey don’t let boys in the Brownies though…. well…. 😈
Anyway – don’t see what the issue is personally……
She seems perfectly happy
retro83Free Member“We’re here to simply promote the sport in a positive light and say ‘I am a woman and I am in the sport. There isn’t a barrier.’”
She said: “The truth is that no one in this sport cares whether someone is male or female. They always take the best person for the job.”

BS and you must know thishere’s an article from 2008 about women on the rise in that industry :
maybe you need to revise which decade you live in ?
TurnerGuyFree MemberWhat do you make of this …

not that I’ve been to one but I believe the audiences are far from being all men, I’ve seen stats of 60% heterosexual women.

slimjim78Free Memberam hopeful that someday very soon we’ll see a female F1 driver competing in actual races
and Shemales!
JunkyardFree Membermaybe you need to revise which decade you live in ?
You do know you can a link from the last decade 😆 My charge is that highly educated women running the industry is not the norm, not that they dont exist, and your ink does not even address this claim. Perhaps you can find something from this decade to address the point made 🙄
I’ve seen stats of 60% heterosexual women.
You have seen lots of things that are not at all typical and also things that are not in the link you give and that you cannot evidence
Careful now or some may start to think you are a little bit deceptive or stupid. What might interest those who’ve never been to see a show before is that over 50% of the audience are usually women and the men that do come want to enjoy a night that showcases powerful women being funny, sexy, clever and thoroughly entertaining – and why the hell not?
Not sure what sort of show would ask people their sexuality as they enter so again I am calling BS
chakapingFull MemberThe burlesque scene was kept afloat by lesbians, or so my friend who ran a club in London assured me. I think hers is closed now though.
Very different to mainstream strip clubs, more like am-dram or cabaret than sex work.
elzorilloFree MemberI’m very disappointing by the lack of nostalgic pics on this thread.
TurnerGuyFree MemberMy charge is that highly educated women running the industry is not the norm, not that they dont exist, and your ink does not even address this claim.
where did I ever say they were running the industry – you really need to concentrate more – you seem to continually make stuff up and then argue against it.
Dita Von Teese mentioning 60%, she’s probably more of an expert on burlesque audiences than you :

TurnerGuyFree MemberYou have seen lots of things that are not at all typical and also things that are not in the link you give and that you cannot evidence
if I quote something and then include a link following a colon, then it implies that the quote came from the link. If I use a full stop between the statement and the link, then there is no direct correlation…
😀
EhWhoMeFull MemberIt seems some are saying its sexist and mysoginist and exploiting to have pit and podium girls and f1 is full of men….so if the men in charge banned them would that not be all of the above….sort of…if i was an attractive women and could be paid for that i would…
Just saying like…
martinhutchFull MemberI’m very disappointing by the lack of nostalgic pics on this thread.
I’m just impressed that the mods are so monk-like they’ve not bothered to take a closer look at the pictures above. 🙂
JunkyardFree MemberCool turner so we both agree that whilst there are some women in high places its a male dominated industry and the example
you cited are highly atypical
Great Glad to hear itShe is indeed more of an expert than either of us but I am not sure how she can tell their sexuality – do you have an explanation? No need to apologise for citing something from the last decade whilst mocking me nor citing something that did not prove what you claimed 🙄
you really need to concentrate more
WHen I mock you for not having views of this decade and then cite from last decade then you will have a point –
you seem to continually make stuff up
When I cite evidence that does not include anything about what I just said then you will have a point
That is one of the funniest things, most ironic, and self unaware things I have read on here for a long time
Makes reading your insights worthwhile I genuinely ROFL at itbikebouyFree MemberI find it rather revealing that a Global Brand like F1 is, is still entrenched in objectification. There is clearly no requirement that the Podium or Umbrella holders should be Women, and scantily clad Women at that.
So, no requirement means it’s a choice based decision process no doubt chaired by blokes and attendees are blokes as well no doubt. Barely any consideration given to the objectification.
I’d fully expect F1 outsource the Entertainment Media Suite to some Global organisation with a tight legal driven contract to provide Women, and Women only as Brolly wagglers and Podium eye candy. However, most of us in the Western World have distanced ourselves from poor judgement regional stereotypes and Women objectification.. Oh.. hang on.. we haven’t really come that far have we. 🙄
JunkyardFree Memberif I quote something and then include a link following a colon, then it implies that the quote came from the link. If I use a full stop between the statement and the link, then there is no direct correlation…
Everyone knows that when you put in a link, and have made only one point, the link is definitely not related to the point you just made. I feel so foolish now and obviously now you should not feel foolish for providing a link that did not evidence what you said.
Again I ROFL at your explanationI am enjoying this. Childish posts that convince no one but very very amusing reading. Please quote that back to me and say that is you that is 😆
outofbreathFree MemberThere is clearly no requirement that the Podium or Umbrella holders should be Women, and scantily clad Women at that.
You reckon? I doubt they’re paid for nothing. My guess is that the media are more likely to show images if there are people who are pleasing to the eye in them becuase those are the images the public want to look at.
If you don’t buy that theory, why do you think these women are employed? As a charitable gesture?
BobaFattFree MemberI’d rather see this kind of porn in the pits myself (bikes too)
PHWOAR!!!!!
crosshairFree MemberSex sells. If I’d pumped millions of quid into an F1 team, I wouldn’t want the best close up footage of my cars and drivers on the grid spoilt by some Norms-the-name in a packa mac holding the umbrella!
It seems the PC brigade are happy for folk to self identify as anything other than a good old fashioned red blooded male!
Would I think differently if my daughter asked me what I thought of her doing it?
Uh, not if there’s free F1 tickets involved for daddy dearest 😆The ultimate destination for all this ultra-pc prudishness is pretty close to some kind of extreme religion. And look at the sorts of deprived sex scandals they throw up!
It’s a sport of incredible indulgence. Billionaires paying drivers millions of pounds to risk life and limb burning high octane fuel going round in circles so people cheer them and watch them spray alcohol over each other at the finish line isn’t exactly virtuous!
So who exactly is a decision like this supposed to please??tpbikerFree MemberNot even half a page in and already an anology with prostitution.. Dear lord..
Who says that being a grid girl isn’t something that some girls aspire to. By all accounts it’s an amazing experience and they love it. Just because you don’t agree doesn’t mean it should be stopped.
I get the impression that those who are so against it will be the type of busy body handwringers who sit at home all day with their ugly wives scouring the news for the next thing to get offended about.
JunkyardFree MemberThis is page 3 – Why is it that some claim only Neanderthal charmless **** wit men with no social skills and low intellect enjoy them?
mickmcdFree Memberwomans choice innit
do you want to be a face seem by millions on the grid
sure
oh sorry someone says its sexist and we should all be ashamed for looking
wonder if they would take the pay cut to go sit at an office job day in day ou ( other jobs are available) rather than pottering round the world
doggycamFree MemberI only looked at this thinking it was pictures of grid girls ,, to review 🙁
molgripsFree MemberGrid girls, yes or no? is a question for grid girls, is it not?
No.
Just to clear this up – it isn’t about the girls themselves, it’s about setting the tone with the rest of society. If my daughters watch F1 they’ll see the men doing all the exciting driving, and the women literally doing nothing beyond standing around looking pretty. This does not send a good message.
So who exactly is a decision like this supposed to please??
Parents who want their kids to grow up thinking that boys and girls are equal, that the exciting stuff is for everyone. Parents like me.
crosshairFree MemberBut the opportunity is there for women to be F1 drivers……
So your daughter has freedom of choice. It’s arguable my son has less freedom- he’s never going to be sexy enough to promote a high profile brand image 😆
