I dunno, that strikes me as a fair midpoint of “sportsmanship” between the teams, fair play and mutual agreement rather than “you will do this/that”. Avoids complaints and appeals later if they can say “well, you agreed to it!”

Not sure the rules cover the exact permutations that have been going on here.

Anyway – Max should have had this championship tied up long ago. It shouldn’t be on a knife edge with 2 races to go.

He says he’s not bothered about championships, but his mistakes clearly show he is feeling the pressure.

I don’t think Leclerc did anything wrong there as well, despite the commentators seeming to infer he was at fault.

So much to sort out – Max lunge downthe outside – what race control have offered is the equivalent of giving the place back

Its farcial and its hard to see what is fair here given so many things being done to game the safety cars / red flags

As I understand it, if the race hadn’t been stopped, race control would have said “give the place back or we’ll refer it to the stewards”. So if Red Bull had said “no thanks” the stewards would have intervened and potentially forced them to or apply a penalty
