    Hamilton complaining again

Looks like Alonso was moving under braking on a couple of corners

    Hamilton is finally past.

Five place grid penalty for Bottas for Spa and two points on his license.

Raikkonen coming out of the pits at the wrong time probably cost Lewis his chance of the win.

Few more laps and he could have won that. All that sparring with Alonso cost him the win. Crazy crazy race. Still can’t get over that restart. Hamilton must have been looking in his mirrors thinking WTF?!

I can’t remember a race for ages so “interesting” just so many different phases and aspects to the race, incredible.

Fantastic race, glad to see some different faces on the podium.

Alonso with the widest car in history!

I was shouting some awful awful things at the telly about Alonso there mind!

That was completely bonkers right the way through. Ocon won the race on merit, Vettel kept him honest and didn’t cock it up and Hamilton put in a properly epic drive for third.

And everyone always says the Hungaroring is a boring place to race at 🤣

If he had pitted on the formation lap he would have been stuck while the field all streamed past to change tyres. Catch 22 really.

    Great recovery drive though.

I cannot wait to hear off Karen.

Mad race, Hamilton looks absolutely done in on the podium!

Fantastic race for Alpine. Really enjoyed the celebrations with Fernando as well. Sport at its finest. I love sport for days like this. Amazing!!!

What a race! Loved it. Great job by latifi to hold onto 8th. Think Williams will be up to 8th in the wcc?

    This.

Bit of argy bargy between Toto and Karen as they crossed paths on the Sky interview stage thing.

I can’t find it now, but there was a clip on IG of Russel being interviewed, he was in tears talking about scoring points. All very emotional.

Can’t work out if that helped or hindered Bottas’ Formula E ambitions

Vettel has really refound himself this year, not just as a driver but as a person. The pressure and disfunction of Ferrari really didn’t sit well with him, looks to be much happier and unstressed with AM.

Agree with all the above. I wonder what odds you’d have got on a win for Ocon?!
Vettel managed to drive well and not be a whiny annoying fingerboy which was nice to see. Hamilton did an epic job to get through the field the way he did. Alonso did a good job of protecting Ocon’s lead in some great defensive driving, all of which stayed fair (in spite of Hamilton’s occasional comments of frustration).

And Verstappen / Red Bull are on the verge of exploding with frustration which is also entertaining.

It’s races like this when you see just how good Hamilton is (notwithstanding who made the call about when to change from inters – still not entirely clear to me). There are other drivers that can match him on certain elements of what’s required, but nobody else has it all like he does.

Lovely bit of work by Alonso to make sure Alpine got the win as well.

I cannot wait to hear off Karen.

It cant be long before we see him blame the Bottas incident as deliberate to take them out.

Oh, wait: “Again, taken out by a Mercedes,” said Verstappen. “That’s not what you want. 😀

This. Mercedes are sometimes so far away from the correct strategy that without him things would be very different.

I think you also have to give credit to Toto’s management. When things go wrong he just resets the team and they go again the next race. They have been on the back foot all season, but they didn’t panic just kept racking up as many points as they could realistically achieve.

Ferrari in past seasons and RB just don’t seam to be able to do that. This season RB have had the fastest car until this weekend, they should have brushed aside the Silverstone incident and gone again, but now the negativity and fear has spread throughout the team, it will be difficult to reset and regain the confidence needed to match a mercedes coming good for the second half of the season.

find it odd that when lewis pitted Ferrari didn’t try something similar, happy with 3rd place behind an alpine and an aston (which they lost) how the mighty have fallen.

What a bizarre arbitrary limit – did it get back under its own steam? Then there’s enough fuel.

    Marko will explode. 😀

Gutted for Seb, it’s a slam dunk, but can’t help but feel the stewards had it in for him after all the LBGTB+ protests.

There needs to be fuel left to sample at the end – if it’s all gone it can’t be tested…

So that means Williams now has 10 points I think. Sad for Seb but that is huge for them.

Not sure how you can make that judgement when their race was taken away from them in the first corner today

    Borrowing Karen’s tin foil hat…

“The Aston is a almost a Mercedes B team, they made sure on purpose that there wasn’t enough fuel for a proper sample so Lewis would get promoted to 2nd!!!”

On the same conspiracy theme, Ghastly got fast lap off LH. Did they pit him late to grab that/deny Merc? If so, Shirley under the command of Herr Marko…

If Seb had just let Lewis past then he’d have gained points but Max wouldn’t have.

    Makes you think 😉

300mm left, I think they said?

    No, it didn’t

Ah. In that case, it’s a fair cop, guv.
