Envelopes or Onvelopes

Why is it that some freaks pronounce the word envelopes, on-velopes?

Are they stupid?

Because they know about the French origins of the word?

I know the French origin of the word Paris, but I don’t pronounce it Par-eeee.

English pronunciation is riddled with inconsistencies and exceptions, even before we get onto regional dialect

You’re mixing up the verb and the noun
