Eccentric BB adjustment

Does anyone know the best way to free up a wedge-type eccentric BB? I’ve got an 08 Santa Cruz Chameleon with one and want to singlespeed it, but after removing all the bolts it will not budge using allen keys in the holes that I presume exist for this purpose. Is brute force the key?

Put the bolt back in and give the allen key a tap inwards with a hammer to free the wedge off.

Yep, that’ll do it. Now I feel kinda stupid, but in my defense I checked SC a few weeks ago and couldn’t find any relevant info. Arse.
