Doesn’t look very healthy and I don’t think it is from around here.

    Is it an ill-eagle immigrant?

    Portavadie.

I must admit I did get slightly nervous when it was checking out the dog.

You get sea eagles and goldens around there but the tail looks like a golden to me?

I have no idea, only thing I’d heard of is a white tailed eagle (?)
    I couldn’t see / tell if it’s tail was white 🤷🏻‍♂️

Still, thought it was pretty cool & unexpected 🙂

    Is it a sticker?
I have one on my patio doors to stop Baby Robins from hitting the glass with their face.

    99% golden eagle.
    1% white tailed sea eagle
0% long fingered pigeon or anything else.

I’d say that’s a golden eagle, in silhouette you won’t see the white tail of a sea eagle anyway, but the slightly longer tail, and those rather distinctive notches in the trailing edge of the wings near to the ends, compared to the sea eagles wings which are almost perfectly parallel right to the ends seems pretty conclusive.

That’s also a way of identifying ravens in flight, their wings have a sort of notch in the trailing edge, and a longer, kite-shaped tail compared to carrion crows.

I’m deeply envious of you seeing an eagle, although I may have a better chance of seeing a sea eagle now that there’s an active re-introduction programme going on on the Isle of Wight.

I’m in Dunoon and have seen Golden Eagles around Cowal a few times (one close enough to be worried I may be it’s next breakfast!) so yes.  They really are a beautiful and privileged sight.

Last saw one being mobbed by a pair of buzzards from the High Road to Otter Ferry, guessing a territory dispute. We have loads of buzzards around here which tourists often mistake for eagles, but when you see them together the size difference is significant.

For sea eagles the Seafari RIB tours out of Easdale are ace.  Been twice, seen 3! And they are bl@@y huge!
