CRC are doing 9spd DA for £50 and I was thinking how they compare to the newer 10spd Ultegra (which can be had for £40).

Is the older DA better or is there not much in it?

[it’s on a 9spd drivetrain by the way]

DA has a Ti spring, I believe, and possibly some other Ti bits.

A former pro roadie mechanic bloke I knew swore by DA over Ultegra rear mechs, as he said the springs were stiffer and lasted longer. I think, for only £10 more, there is quite a bit in it. I can’t speak for the 10-speed one, but the DA was quite a lot nicer than the Ultegra version, when I bought mine. Certainly a tad lighter.

And is the DA not reduced? Were they not more like £70-80?

Get the Dura-Ace. The XTR of the road bike world….

Just seen that the Ultegra one is actually £48? Only £2 more for DA?

    I think that settles it.
