does mineral oil look brown on the way out?

of a brake system i mean? Is it just full of crap or has some clever dick put some dot fluid in my shimanos? normally when ive bled shimanos the oil still looks pink but this is crappy brown

My HS33s use mineral oil, 10 years later they still seem clean. But DOT fluid stinks, it should be damned obvious.

hmm well ive flushed the brown stuff out and rebled with mineral oil and it seems to be working now, just hope whatever clown has put in doesnt damage the hoses or has left too much crap behind

Mineral oil doesn’t have to be pink, comes in other colours too. Doubt if it’s dot fluid in there, it would probably have destroyed your seals by now, I know it does if you put mineral fluid in a dot system.
