Does it matter what pull front mech you use?

Im building up a frame and the bike website says use a top swing front mech? why is this and whats the difference?

I just feel dumber and dumber everyday lol. Thank god for STW.

Top swing and top pull aren’t the same thing. Pull is the direction the cable comes from, swing is where the cage pivots.
