Wednesday evening I sprained my foot pretty bad, at the time I thought it was broken and i had a lump below my ankle bigger than my ankle and could put no weight on it. X rays the next morning showed now break or ligament damage.
2 days later I can walk ok but foot is turning purple and is swollen.
Monday Mrs and little miss CD are out and the weather looks good, I don’t want to miss the opportunity but the nurse said take it easy for a few weeks. If I ride will I make it worse.
Yes I know, ask some IT managers instead of believing a trained medical professional 😉

I sprained my ankle pretty bad a couple of months ago. When I could walk again I tried cycling again, easy road rides were ok as long as I didn’t use spd’s. Pedalling was ok but unclipping really hurt!!

It’s taken a while but I think it’s ok now, I kept hurting it by trying too much, jumps on the mtb put to much strain on it….

Hope it’s ok now any way as I’m riding in the lakes next Friday, think I’ll take the full suss!!

It will be a road ride, don’t think any jarring on rough bits or pushing through the corners would be good.

You are unlikely to cause any kind of lasting damage however it may be painful, particularly after the ride and possibly into the next day, as you may cause the swelling to increase.

Not bothered about the next day, I’ll be working from home. Fingers crossed the pain and swelling is gone by Monday

My swelling an bruising went down after about two weeks. Although my ankle bone is still enlarged now…
