Hi New to the forum so please be gentle 😳

I have a recurring problem with creaking coming from my EBB. Its fine for the first few mile then between 150 to 200 miles from strip down and repack it starts again.

Should I except this as a fact of life (no ss jokes please) or is it normal?

I have run the frame both in geared and SS format and the ‘problem’ is the same 🙄

The bike was brand new and bought in August 2012

    Many thanks

The Niner EBB is known for creaking issues, my Air 9 Carbon has a slight click to it when I slog up really steep hills, I have just cleaned and sprayed it with carbogrip which seems to be what everyone is recommending these days and then cranking the blighter up nice and tight.

Going for my first test ride tonight (only did it last night)

If that doesn’t work I will just by Bushnell EBB and shim as a permanent soloution

Degrease the whole thing with meths/IPA & reasssemble.
Light smear of grease on the BB threads, but keep the EBB bits completely dry. Works for me on my SIR.9.

    (Charliethebikemonger tip by the way).
