clockwise or anti clockwise

not so long ago i upgraded to 9 speed, i seem to have a problem after 6th gear… i get a lot of slipping gear or changing gear on its own ? seems to be ok when its dry, but as its been muddy damp weather recently , gears seems abit hap hazzard. so which way shud i turn the barral adjuster …clockwise or anti clockwise,

leave that alone for now. check for gunge in the rear loop of cable first. the most common cause of mis-shifting is smeg in there
