Looking for some cheap air forks for my inbred and am wondering if anyone has experience of Epicons? They seem light and a good price. I’m struggling to find any decent fox or Rockshox 2nd hand that are suitable.

My fork pick from best to worst, well maybe not worst but least favourite, there are worse forks out there!

. RockShox Reba/SID/Revs you should be able to source a good pair second hand for Epicon money, hold out for some.
. Manitou R7 almost as good as RS & can be had well under £200 new, bit on an unsung hero, slightly odd design.
. Fox Float feel plusher but IMHO not as well damped & a bit maintenance sensitive.
. Suntour Epicon not plush not well damped, sorry. The internals look lovely more machined alloy than Rockshox plastics but doesn’t translate into a great fork.

I’m sure someone will be along to dispute my opinion in a minute!

    As above.

There was a second hand set of dual air Rebas (more plusher than the new solo air ones), straight steerer and 120mm travel so perfect for your Inbred going in the classifieds a week or two ago for less money than a new Epicon.

The Epicon isn’t bad but you can get much more for your money by shopping second hand.

Those Rebas look good. Afraid those SIDS are a bit pricey for me Beagle.

Sorry Hatter I’m not sure which I need – whatever fits an Inbred with swap outs.

Epicons are great, they’re as good as any similar spec badge fork I reckon. Even Raidons are pretty good- certainly better than Rebas. I’d agree you can get ‘better’ if you shop second hand though (ie I picked up a set of Durolux forks for £95!)

edit- I’ve got some straight steerer, QR, white Epicons spare if you’re interested.

Epicons currently look my best option. Cant see any decent rockshox/foxs around that are as good value.

Need a decent length steerer pal but thanks anyway. Like Rebas too, shame.
