OK, final topic on this I promise.

Following on from my recent thread about the camber vs the codeine I thought that I had got closer to making my mind up on the camber.

Until I saw the new Stumpjumper Comp which had blurred my train of thought again.

On top of that I’ve seen a 2014 Kona Process 111 for a similar price but only in medium.

Now I’m really confused what to get. The camber looks great but needs a dropper and has the longest chain stays at 451mm.

The Stumpy comes with a dropper, shorter stays, internal routing but conversely more travel (probably more than I honestly need)

Then we have the medium Process. Not sure if it’s going to be a touch small, looking at the numbers it’s only a few mm different to the Stumpjumper, but sizing wouldn’t be the ‘progressive’ Kona long front as the medium is effectively the same as the large in other sizes so I’d get a similar front length rather than the extra long front length as part of the progressive geometry. Process has slightly higher spec parts and has all the travel I realistically need.

Camber Evo £2000 plus £200 for dropper
    Stumpjumper £2200 Inc dropper
    Process £2239 Inc dropper

Stumpy all the way. Its a new bike. The others are presumably ‘last years’ so if you buy now you’ll see them with 30% off soon. I bet the extra few mm of travel won’t make it a pig to ride…..

    /based on nothing but conjecture

    Stumpy.

I have a camber only because I couldn’t afford a stumpy at the time

That’s kind of my thinking too. I’m so indecisive!

The Process already has abbot £800 off as its last years model.

I’ll keep my eyes pealed for the Stumpy.

Anyone think they’d notice much difference with the below geometry.

    Existing ett 620mm, reach 427mm 445mm chainstay and run a 45mm stem

Large Camber Evo ett 617mm, reach 432mm 451mm chainstay

Large Stumpy ett 611mm, reach 435mm, 437mm chainstay

Medium Process ett 605mm, reach 435mm, 430mm chainstay

Seems the camber is closest to existing with both the stumpy and process a touch shorter when seated but a touch longer when stood up but with shorter stays

    I’d get the Process.

Why not the Codeine X01? Too beefy for you?

I’d probably get the process too (I own a whyte t129s). Doubt you would be disappointed with any of them. Just pick the one you like the look of best.

Camber evo frame looks much nicer than the kona imo.

Only reason that the codeine is probably out is no stock till end of July. Plus with various discounts, all the 3 I listed are about £400 LRS than the xo1 codeine

Looking like the process might be out on seat tube length. Would have to run the post at Max extension and even then it would be 8mm lower than my current set up.
