As title, bought in early lockdown for a fortune carbon hardtail. 27.5 . Always been the reserve bike but seen a fair bit of action, various bits replaced (it’s now Shimano, difft dropper), minor repairs to frame. Forks (Rockshox Revelation RC / 27.5 / 150mm) are way way overdue a service and I’m wondering whether just to buy some new or better ones, and slacken the head angle whilst I’m at it. Mechanical ignoramus and not done this before but should really have a go.

So – any thoughts/ advice inc what to buy, or “don’t bother just ride it into the ground as is” v welcome.

Unless you’re fully into hardcore hardtail riding (in which case you probably wouldn’t have a Transmitter in the first place), the geometry’s not too bad (except for the seat angle which is a bit relaxed).

I’ve got a mk1 ali Transmitter with 150mm Yaris and as a bit of a do-it-all bike it’s pretty good to say the least – probably the best genuine all-rounder HT I’ve ridden/owned.

There’d be no harm in slapping in a slackset and fitting some beefier 150mm forks – should steepen up the seat angle a tad too.

Im not sure about the CF version, but on the Alu version the headset bearings sit in a machined part of the frame. So there are no additiinal cups to allow the fitment of an angleset.

So def check what the system is with yours.
