Hold on to your pants. This is boggling – and gives you loads of moments where you see just how gnarly the Hardline course is, even on the bits in bet …

That’s stunning! Some serious drone flying, on top of the impressive riding!

@nickc I did see him pedal once – in the air off a huge jump! 😂

Just shows, when I think I’m going fast. I’m really not!!….

Drone flying is amazing as well.

    Wow!

That give a real perspective to the speed, steepness and how technical the course is.

Wow. That drone setup must be pretty dialed to keep the bike in shot the whole time. I remember the early drone shots they used to have to pirouette to scrub the speed as they descended to you couldn’t really tell what was going on.

A lot of cameras shoot quite a wide angle and the footage is then cropped – I guess this could be done here.

Did anyone notice you can’t hear the screaming whine of the drone, but you can hear every little pitter patter of the bike on the ground?

    Nice touch that.

Just ****ing incredible tbh. It’s not just that it’s awesome to watch, it’s… til recently you just couldn’t give any impression of what a track like that really was like. Helmet cams can’t do it, static cams certainly can’t. And there was that whole selection thing when camera positions would always choose places they could get a single good shot, basically meaning jumps or open bits or just occasionally that orrible steep rock bit and you’d not just not get a true impression, it was actively giving a false one. It’s not just better, it’s a completely different thing.

Also makes me want to get a fps drone and go zooooooooming. While making speederbike noises obviously

goodness, all of that was incredible.  Not only was he flying at crazy speed through narrow trees he then had to come out of the woods and turn to face a shot on one side while continuing to fly sideways.  All of this and some amazing riding at crazy speeds.  As above, it’s a completely new way of seeing the route

Always thought kade was one of the best bike handlers on the planet with talent and skill in spades, it’s weird how it doesn’t transfer to results, I guess racing iq and mindset really is key. At least we get some dry Hardline footage this year 😀

Some drones now come with AI “stuff” (technical term) to remove the noise of the rotors completely.

    Stunning footage, that’s phenomenal flying.

The riding is another league. I can do that sort of speed on a road bike. The absolute most basic bits of that trail, I could just about mince down quite carefully. The jumps – sorry, that sort of distance is a helicopter flight, not a bike ride. 🤯

Was there a “twitch” after he landed the road gap? Stomach in mouth moment at that speed. They always make mad stuff like that look so easy.

Sure looked like it to me… i wonder if that’s just ‘OK’ to these guys or if it’s a “WOOOAH” moment.

I assumed audio is from a mic on the bike, you get a little bit of drone rotor noise when it’s close in the slower sections.

The flying is amazing, they show a bit of the glitchy, low-res feed that pilot gets into his goggles early on so incredible to get through all the trees and other hazards with that going on – there was a similar one from one of the urban DH races and he was having complete dropouts in many places. The drones also don’t slow down very well – a few places where he got really really close.

Cool to see a full top to bottom that isn’t a helmet/chest cam, there’s so much to that course beyond the huge jumps.

Yeah, some of the sections after the road gap are mad. Doesn’t look like much room for error here!

Yes agreed, although after watching this and other vids that Kade has done, you can see why Trek while at the same time as having him on the race team, probs. aren’t that bothered about results for him. Last race, both Ric and Cedric essentially stopped talking about timing/racing and just used his run to tell everyone they both have a man crush on Kade because of his skills.

I don’t know what was more jaw-dropping, the riding or the drone navigating through those trees.  Both were pretty special.

and that footage was so much better than just helmet cam

Don’t think I’ve ever rewatched a video so many times in short succession.
