the Tontine Hotel in Peebles is very nice, three * hotel with OK ish bike storage.

last time we stayed there it was £35 PPN for B&B, and the breakfast is very good 🙂 15 min ride from the hotel to the visitor centre. and very close to curry houses/italians/pubs.

Bike friendly (with lockup) and right in the middle of Peebles. About £25/night including breakfast from what I remember.

Smee – we were up yesterday and turned back before we gained much height: snow’s too thick, and at these temperatures (cold!) has a decent chance of lying around for a while 😕

Another vote for the Glentress CLICKY[/url], great food, safe bike storeage and straight out onto the trails without paying for car parking.
