Best Maxxis front tyre ?

Whats the best Maxxis front tyre to use as a general tyre ?

I’ve got a Spesh Sauserwind on the back at the moment which is basically a copy of a High roller, with a Spesh Storm up front – tis not a bad combo but I’d like something a bit less nobbly than the Storm…

Any recommendations ?

why not just stick a HR front & rear?

Minion’d be worth a go. I get on better with a Minion up front and a HR in the back

I’ve tried High Rollers and ADvantage on the front. I liked the ADvantage (had the 2.25) which comes up huge. I think High Rollers are a bit grippier although I’ve only got the 2.1 – sidewalls seem chunkier too.

where for Justa? Advantages are nice, but reallY really awful, especially on the front in proper mud.

Could be good trail center tyres though

bit of everywhere really – not an out and out mud tyre – if its that muddy I’ll grab the road bike or the tricross 🙂

I’d go High Rollers. I’m using 2.1 single plys with a stans kit on my Meta.

Pain to get sealed on my 321 rims though. Although I since read that I should have used a different kit.

Really like the ADvantage exception, 62a I think, on the front in all conditions, however previously I had a Conti Vapour so anything is an improvement from that. Its a decent size too.

I find both my HR and Swampthing in 42A sticky as a sticky thing.

They do drag a bit but bloody hell they are grippy.

The HR maybe a good choice. I’m running tubeless and 2.35 width.

How’s the Ventana?

ive got a high roller 62a kevlar folding on the front in a 2.35. i found the super tacky high roller too slow rolling. it chews up the ground and spits it in your face. The kevlar folding 62a is much lighter and still grippy – i’m happy with it.

I’ve got a 2.35 HR on the front and an Ardent on the back which seems to work really well.
