My wife re-wrapped a book she gave me last year that I haven’t read yet 🙂 I’m happy enough with that, we are doing a lightweight Christmas this year, I re-wrapped her running shoes that she bought a couple of months ago…

    Happy Christmas everyone!

Best – HEADPHONES! Had broken old ones for last 12 months so not only total surprise but and am literally restless with excitement yet have to talk to ppl all day and night so deferred gratification is go!

Weirdest – Half a (used) hotel bottle-ette of ‘Lavender & Tea Tree Hair Wash’*

*Disclaimer – I have a grade zero haircut as have been bald for last 10 yrs.

I tweeted that Putin Calendar thing earlier. I typically get say 200 or 300 views on any given tweet, that one now has 11,000 and climbing!

Gave my nephew a packet of sticking plasters after an hour of him looking disappointed and rechecking and even opening the box to see if I had hidden something good inside , I gave him a Swiss Army Knife . 30 minutes later he need the plasters.

Best. Having the hospital let the FiL out of hospital for the first time in six weeks to have Christmas dinner with us, one of the nicest blokes you could ever wish to meet. Worst. Having to take him back when he’d finished as he was only allowed out for four hours maximum. Kind of makes the rest of the gifts somewhat immaterial.

Best: Being allowed to build a new shed (now referred to as the bungalow).

Worst: A burr coffee grinder that’s finest setting is so coarse you can’t even use if for French press. Any recommendations for a replacement suitable for a fine espresso bring would be most welcome.

2nd best – Bottle of Talisker

3rd best – Bottle of Talisker

    Worst – Bottle of Talisker

Don’t get me wrong I like a drop of Talisker but a man likes a bit of variety in his drinks cupboard.

Best: 1/2 bottle of Chivas Regal. Never tried it before.

Worst: 3 hours in A&E on Christmas Eve with suspected heart problems. Turned out to be nothing, thankfully, but matched a couple of the symptoms of my dad’s recent heart attack (which he survived, thankfully)

I got a Quattro too. Flippin love it and it’s a replica of the original speed queen, Michèle Mouton. In true Group B style it goes like stink around the track. Best thing is the kids chose it themselves only under the guidance of finding something ‘a bit retro’ (I didn’t want a McLaren or DB9).

No worst for me as even the socks are cool.

It’s by Otto, not cheap but large scale and very heavy! All metal.
